A Danish writer
Martin Petersen is born in Copenhagen 1950. Childhood in Lyngby (suberb, north of Copenhagen), one year in Newport, R.I., USA, then high school in Aarhus, teacher’s education and 20 years’ work as elementary school teacher, also in Aarhus. (Second biggest city in Denmark.) Now full-time writer. First published in 1987: Poems, songs, then children’s novels, YA-novels, plays – and seven novels for adults.
None of his works has been translated into English, one YA-novel does treat English themes, though, namely “Lille fisk” (“Little fish”) which is inspired by the Morecambe tragedy in 2004.
